Sokoro Primary school is located in Elburgon Division of Molo Sub County,Nakuru County. The school is located about 1.7 Kilometres from Elburgon town, and roughly about 700 metres of the Molo-Nakuru road a murram feeder road. The school is situated next to Timsales Timber factory which deals with timber and timber products. The school neighbors the ecosystem conservator County Office formerly called D.F.O office, and the Eastleigh,Jerusalem and Kasarani slums.
The school was started in 1962, a year before Kenya got its independence. The school was started by the then Forest conservative with the aim of giving education to their children. After independence the school continued offering education to the children of the forest workers and those from surrounding areas were also admitted. The old buildings as part of the classroom even reflect this history. The school stands on a roughly 23 acres, having part of what was originally its parcel to the construction of a new secondary school. It consists of permanent and semi-permanent buildings. Some of these buildings are very old and dilapidated.
The school opens its door to the children of the surrounding environment, and draws the majority of the pupils from the surrounding slum as earlier mentioned.
